Aromatherapy for Emotional Healing
Last week, we spent a lot of time identifying how you might get in your own way once you begin to pursue this new story you've chosen. And I suggested aromatherapy as a sneaky resource, especially for tricky problems like self-sabotage, because it has a way of sneaking in under the radar.
But which essential oils are good for emotional healing? Well, that list is long, but I will share some of them here. Just know that lots of good books are filled with essential oil possibilities if you want to know more.
Let’s start off with what we’re going to do about what holds you back. The problems with resistance, and other self-defeating behavior.
Grapefruit & Lemongrass...
Both help you let go of negative patterns and offer emotional clearing & cleansing. They both will help you release the feelings that may have been creating blocks or resistance, or leading to self-sabotage.
Then, next, let’s look at how we can deal with the underlying fear and anxiety that contribute mightily to self-sabotage and resistance…
What to Do about Anxiety & Fear
(and other underlying feelings)
Sweet Marjoram: comforts and soothes, offers warmth and strength, and is good for hidden anxiety, unhealed anger issues and other stressful situations.
Rose: powerful conduit for feelings of loving connection and helps you let go of fear. Also, a very nurturing, comforting oil. Vibrates with love. Genuine rose oil is pricey but worth the investment.
Lavender: very soothing, an all-purpose healing oil that can help heal damaged feelings.
German Chamomile: calms and increases your receptivity to intuitive guidance, and promotes honest communication.
Roman Chamomile: is peaceful and soothing, and is gentle enough for children (as is lavender). It relaxes and can lead to more peaceful sleep.
Sandalwood: enhances spiritual connection, is a good companion for meditation, and offers serenity and comfort.
Vanilla Bean: brings comfort and warmth and is helpful with unresolved grief and loss.
Geranium: great for emotional healing, soothing, brings nurturing/mothering energy.
Tomorrow, and for the next several days, I'll share some ways to use essential oils in your healing rituals.
What about Other Energy Healing Techniques?
One of the reasons I am suggesting essential oils for healing is because you get so much bang for your buck.
Just breathing in the scent is very powerful, but also very simple. And a pleasurably sneaky workaround for resistance. But it's a form of energy healing and if you familiar with any energy healing techniques, you'll know, already, that they fit the bill, too, because they offer change all the way down to the cellular level.
Any energy healing technique can be used alone, or in combination with another one, to create synergy. Reiki is one I recommend because it is both gentle & powerful. Crystal healing is another.
You could while away an afternoon just doing a search on "energy healing techniques." I will make reference to a few here but I encourage you explore if the ones I mention don't appeal to you.
See you tomorrow!
