Healing Disenchantment & Disconnection
In order to help with that, our first week will bring you ways to clear out all the nasty old junk that is clogging up your internal space so you can let in more wonder and enchantment. I hope that the methods we use will enchant you, but the purpose is clearing & cleansing.
So, on Sundays, this month, we'll give some love and attention to our chakras. Once cleared of the emotional pain they sometimes store for us, they are great allies in helping you live full out and experience everything life has to offer, including deeper connection to all things wondrous.
Today, we start with a reminder of what our chakras do for us.
Overview of the Seven Chakras
Our seven main chakras are energy centers up and down our bodies from our tailbone to the top of our head. They are said to be like spinning wheels at each of those seven centers and are contained within the energy field.
Here is a brief overview of what they are like at full functioning, when all is well...
1st: The first chakra, often referred to as the root chakra, is located right around the tailbone and when working right, it helps us feel rooted and grounded, safe and welcome here on earth.
2nd: The second chakra, often called the sacral or belly chakra, is located a couple of inches below the navel and is designed to help us feel our feelings, both sexual and emotional.
3rd: The third chakra, referred to as the solar plexus, is located just under our heart space in our belly area, and is connected to intelligent thought, knowledge and the will.
4th: The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, is located at our heart space, and it helps us love ourselves and each other. Compassion and forgiveness also come from the heart center.
5th: The fifth chakra, referred to as the throat chakra, is located right there at our throats, and helps us express our thoughts and feelings, and find our voice, express ourselves creatively.
6th: The sixth chakra, our brow chakra, is located between our eyes and helps us see even when our eyes are closed. This is the seat of our intuition and helps us know even when we don't know how we know.
7th: The seventh chakra, our crown chakra, is located at the top of our head and it connects us to the universe, the divine, the eternal. It helps us feel connected.
As you reflect on each chakra, think about how each one would help you in different areas of your life. And even more importantly, what life might be like if you have unhealed issues related to a particular chakra's function.
We're going to spend each Sunday this month exploring healing strategies for the chakras with crystal healing, essential oils for healing and chakra meditations. At the end, I'll offer a healing ritual you can use to continue to do chakra work.
So stay tuned for more weekend chakra adventures.
Love to you!
