How Stress Affects Your Energy Field
When we have experiences that hurt or frustrate or wound us in some other way, and we don't heal them, that energy hangs around in our energy field like an unwanted companion. It affects our aura, our chakras and eventually, our day-to-day experience.
Toxic energy disempowers us and makes us less able to cope with the new stuff that comes our way.
When you regularly heal and clear emotional wounds, big or small, you strengthen your ability to cope with the daily stress life sends your way.
Healing Your Energy Field
Here is a technique for clearing toxic energy from your energy field...
1) Imagine that you have a zipper holding your energy field closed. Can you see the zipper in your mind? Does it zip down from the top or zip open from the bottom?
2) Decide on one or the other and then, reach down or up and unzip yourself. All the way down or all the way up.
3) Once you are unzipped, take a moment to notice if it feels any different. Then, imagine that just like a tent or floor-to-ceiling coat, you can peel away the sides and step out of your energy field. Step out and then, turn around to look back at it.
4) Pause for a moment to evaluate how that feels. Does it feel any different? Do you have a sense, inside your head, of how the energy field looks or feels now that it is separate from you?
If you don't feel anything, don't worry. Though you are actively doing this exercise, it may be said to be symbolic. Maybe it is.
Releasing Toxic Energy
Now, that you are separate from your aura, grab it gently and shake it, imagining and thus, watching, everything that needs to be released shaking loose from it, floating away and down into the earth, going all the way down to the center where it will be lovingly absorbed and transmuted.
Once you feel complete, step back into your aura, turn around and zip it closed. Pause for a moment or two and notice any shifts in the way you feel.
Most people feel lighter. But again, it is totally okay if you don't feel anything. It may take a while to notice changes.
How to Protect Your Energy Field Each Day
Doing the Zip-Up Technique protects you from negative energy you might encounter. You can even turn an imaginary lock on your chin to signify that only you can un-zip yourself.
Another protective technique is to imagine a circle of impenetrable golden light surrounding you, that only allows in love and other positive energy.
