Ritual for Healing
Fear & Anxiety
We've been taking a look at self-sabotage and other self-defeating patterns of behavior, and as I mentioned, if you dig all the way to the bottom of those strategies, what you'd find are the feelings they are designed to resolve or avoid.
And the deepest feeling would be fear, I believe.
Simple Healing Ritual
Here's a simple, comforting ritual for healing fear and anxiety...
Make yourself a cup of chamomile tea. If you can find one blended with vanilla, or with lavender, you may find it even more comforting.
While the tea is brewing, make a list of the feelings you identified this week, and place them beneath a tealight candle. Rate them, giving them a number between zero and ten as to how strong the feeling is.
If you have lavender or chamomile oil, or sweet orange, add a drop or two to the candle before lighting it.
Drink your tea while watching the flame and imagine what your life will be like when you have healed your fear. See it unfolding in your mind.
Once you have finished your tea and can no longer smell the oils, blow out the candle, and re-rate those feelings. Did the number go down? I hope so!
My Distant Healing Ritual for You
To begin my ritual, I inhaled calming & soothing essential oils, and prayed for the healing of anyone who would visit this blog post page.
After that, what I did was light a candle with a comforting scent, and I placed the words, “heal fear” beneath it.
On the paper, I also drew a Karuna Reiki symbol for peace and surrounded the candle with calming crystals. I said a prayer for all of you and let the candle burn for several hours.
When I blew it out, I expressed gratitude for your healing.
